Maurice Creek
Access - Take Highway 29 south towards
Chetwynd and cross the Peace Canyon Bridge.
The trail begins 3.4 km beyond the bridge on
the left hand side of the highway. It has
been marked at times, but it is difficult to
maintain. From this point, one can hike
upstream 1.5 kilometers to the middle falls,
then carry on another 1/2 kilometer to the
upper falls, which are an impressive 4.5m to
6m cascade. If one strikes out downstream, 6
kilometers from the starting point, you will
reach the lower falls. Continuing on for
approximately 1.5 hours you'll reach the
Peace River. This part of the trail involves
crossing the creek.
Note: This
is a one day or weekend adventure. Great
berry picking!
