Nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Chetwynd is the all-season recreation destination point for all types of travelers.

The beauty of the Little Prairie valley captures the heart of the residents and tourists alike. This is a land of fertile valleys, great lakes and rivers, jagged mountain ranges and snowcapped peaks.

Chetwynd features unique chain saw sculptures skillfully displayed throughout the community. The sculptures, all hand crafted by BC artists, depict indigenous Canadian animals, birds and other sculpture works.

Chetwynd is home to the largest indoor rodeo facility in
Northeastern British Columbia. The Pine Valley Exhibition Park plays host to the College Rodeo and the Northern Rodeo Association finals. The Leisure Facility and Wave Pool is one of the finest in the north with complete wheelchair access.

Old Baldy Hiking Trail offers a splendid view of the valley with developed rest stops along the way. The Community Forest has walking, hiking, interpretive and cross-country ski trails. Enjoy a quiet picnic lunch in peace and tranquility after a short 700 metre walk through the forest on trails bursting with plant life, different species of trees and abundant wildlife.

World-class skiing at Powder King Mountain Resort, the hospitality ski centre of the North, is only 110 kilometers from Chetwynd on Highway 97.

The Moberly Lake Provincial Campground located north of Chetwynd has 109 sites and a private marina with a 9 hole challenging golf course nearby. Gwillim Lake Campsite has 49 sites and is located south of Chetwynd. The 9 hole Natural Springs golf course is located 10 km south on Highway 29.
