Dawson Creek, Mile Zero of the world famous
Alaska Highway, is also renowned for the spectacular vistas of golden wheat fields, vibrant canola,
and friendly people

Centrally located between Highways 97 north and south, Highway 2 and Highway 49, Dawson Creek is your adventure headquarters.

Start with the Northern Alberta Railway Park, hosting the Visitor Info centre, Station Museum and Art Gallery. The original Mile Zero Cairn is located a walking distance within the four acre park which boasts ample parking, from small vehicles to the largest RV.
The NAR Station was built in 1931. Today it is the distinctive Station Museum. The extensive highway memorabilia, pioneer artifacts and wildlife displays will take you back in time. Enjoy the video "The Alaska Highway, 1942-1992", shown throughout the day.

One of the most outstanding buildings in Dawson Creek is the Art Gallery. This unique gallery is located within a renovated grain elevator annex. Exhibitions feature both local artists as well as traveling collections from major galleries. The Gallery Gift Shop offers a wide variety of products from local artisan and craftsman. Bus and group tours are always welcome at both the Station Museum and Art Gallery, but reservations are recommended.

Your tour of Dawson Creek would not be complete without a visit to Walter Wright Pioneer Village, located in Mile Zero Rotary Park. a stroll along the wooden plank sidewalks will transport you to a time when our community was on the edge of the frontier. Visit the shops, restaurant, and view the vintage machinery.

Enclosed within this park are the spectacular Gardens North: a parade of perennials, shrubs, trees and annuals; the man-made Rotary Lake; and outdoor swimming area, not life guarded.

Your journey into the Peace River Country, and along the renowned Alaska Highway will be most rewarding when you spend time in this historic community.
