For
winter enjoyment, the Village is close to
all winter sport activities such as downhill
skiing, cross country ski trails, skating,
hockey and snowmobiling. The highlight of
the summer season is the parade and barbecue
held every July 1st.
One
kilometre south of the Village, located on
the banks of the Pouce Coupe River and
Bissette Creek, you will find overnight
camping, BBQ pits, children's playground,
sheltered cook house, electrical hookups and
more!

| DID
YOU KNOW?... |

>
Many
stories surround the origin of
the town's
name. Some
say it got it's name from an old
French
voyageur who cut his thumb
skinning
a buffalo
("cut thumb" = "pouce
coupe" in
French).
Others say "Pouce
Coupe" translates
to "an
abandoned chief's lodge by a
deserted
beaver
dam" in Beaver language.
